After nearly forty years in Italy, Abdelouahab (Aldo) decides to go back home to Morocco. His son Ilyass (Elia), grown up in Lombardy, accompanies him through a van journey, which is the opportunity to explain, encounter and sometimes confront each other. Aldo had found work and well-being in the Italy of the 80s, on the contrary Elia suffers a dead-end precarious condition. Stories of immigration and generational differences, in a road movie through the Po Valley, France, Spain, and Morocco.
Elia Mouatamid was born in Fes, Morocco, in 1982, but has lived with his family in Rovato (Brescia, Italy) since he was one-year-old. After the Secondary School Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, in 2008 he began to study acting at Accademia della Voce in Brescia and film directing at Scuola Mohole in Milan. The short film Gaiwan (2015) was screened by several international film festivals. Talien is his first feature-film and it was awarded the Special Mention at Torino Film Festival.
