Working Title Film Festival 3 at Teatro Comunale. New Call for entries

We publish the Working Title Film Festival 3 call for entries. The festival will take place in Vicenza from the 27th April to the 1st May 2018.

At its third edition, the film festival on the theme of work promoted by the organization LIES, changes location: the event will be hosted at Sala del Ridotto of Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza.

The theatre has 380 seats and all the equipment for the HD film screening. This theatre will be the new home for the film screenings, the Q&As at the presence of the directors, the awards’ ceremony. The new prestigious location will be added to the artistic and creative space Exworks, confirming itself as a project partner for the third year in a row.

Two sections for a competition 

Also in the next edition there will be an international competition, addressed mainly to directors under the age of 35 and opened to medium-length films and feature films of any genre on the theme of work. There will be a brand new section, ExtraWorks, dedicated to short experimental audiovisual works and to the new languages.

Recapitulating the international competition will consist of two sections:

The Working Title Film Festival 3 Award

Open to documentary films, feature films, animation films on the theme of Work, at least 30 minutes long, completed after the 1st of January 2016

The ExtraWorks Award

Open to experimental short-films, video arts, video clips on the theme of Work, with a maximum length of 15 minutes, completed after the 1st of January 2016.

For both the sections the audiovisual works must be made by directors under the age of 35 (at the moment of the deadline). Exceptions are possible, prior to due assessment, and in any case only for works that have little or no distribution.

The essential requirement  for both the sections is to deal with the theme of work. The work can be articulated in the past, present or future tense. The topics to deal with can be various, such as the stories of life and testimonies of current or disappearing jobs, the latest technological and social frontiers, precariousness and the lack of rights, rewarding stories, as well as intellectual and handcraft achievements.

Deadline on the 31st December 2017

The submissions can be presented from the 1st October to the 31st December 2017.
