Caught in the Rain

Synopsis Three men are working on a construction site. Their work has been interrupted by five months of imprisonment. The rain suddenly falls like the silence before an eviction. For six years now, the directors have been documenting the struggle of the Brussels collective “La voix des sans papiers”. The environment of this collective is constantly evolving and imposes its own form to the films.

Directors’ bio-filmography Mieriën Coppens (1992) and Elie Maissin (1990) graduated in Brussels, one from LUCA School of Arts, the other from RITCS School of Arts. Immersed with a hundred inhabitants in the house occupied by “La voix des sans papiers”, they directed several short films, with the help of the Wildcard Award offered by the Flemish Audiovisual Fund: Caught in the Rain is the latest.
