Synopsis In 1968 the industrialist Fredy Legler predicted a 90% reduction of textile manpower, while his cotton mill patents a anti-wrinkle fabric that does not require an iron. If the human variable is ousted from production and from consumption, nothing will stop the fabric/product from unfolding its animated phantasmagoria. The film is a palimpsest of 16mm corporate films, home movies, animated fabric samples, internal documents, and 18th-century engravings.
Director’s bio-filmography Niccolò Beretti (1988), after a Master degree in Cinema and New Media at IULM in Milan and an internship at Mammafotogramma animation studio, has been working in the field of New Media Art.
